"To my friends, the diamonds. I am leaving Twitter forever! There are many things in modern life that steal precious time & energy. Love, m"
It's a shame, I will miss seeing how she's doing on a regular basis.
I suppose she's always said that modern technology takes people away from real interactions so it's not a big surprise she's done this. Still, for those of us who are not fortunate enough to know her personally it will mean we're more disconnected from her, but now she's becoming famous with more pressures on her time I guess that was inevitable really.
I think she deleted her account totally because she didn't want people to continue to @ tweet her in the hope that she'd read it, especially if she has no intention of having anything to do with it anymore. She could of just let the account go dormant or got somebody from the record company to update it but Marina took the most honest route, I believe she was thinking of us diamonds when she took that decision so we wouldn't waste our time trying to interact with her there.
In one of her last tweets she talked about feeling 'bleak' and 'lost' and the same day deleted her account. If not using twitter anymore means she'll be happier then it can only be a good thing.
I just hope she finds time to blog on her site and update facebook pretty often to keep us all up to date.
